  1. Debora- I really enjoyed your photos. Number 12 is my favorite, I really like the angle you got on these children whispering. Whispering is such a fun activity, especially around this age and you can see their emotions within their face. The one whispering is sort of giggling which makes you think he is telling a funny secret, while the one receiving sort of looks serious with a bit of a sparkle in his eye. This is a great photo!

  2. Hi Debora! You have a really great set of photos here. Although I really enjoy your urban-themed photos, your number 2 photo is a really great example of the theme of this project. It's eery and gives off the scary-movie feel with the lighting and contrast within the photo. Great job!

  3. #3 is what jumped at me the most. For whatever reason I like the idea of shooting through a window while still capturing the reflection. I like the framing od the photo, not a typical head on shot. Rather you shot the photo on an angle which added a cool effect for me. This photo adds plenty of mystery for me so I feel as if you hit on that well. Also I like that you caught someone in the process of walking by, I think this got my attention even more then it would have if hadn't. Overall good job.

  4. I love number 3. I feel like the more I look at it the more I see. It's only a reflection yet it seems to have depth with in the picture that I didn't expect. I like 12 as well. I love the expression captured on the faces of the two people. The whisper looks excited to being telling her information and the one listening almost looks hesitant as to what they are about to hear. Good. Job

  5. I like photo #3 because of the reflection and the person that is walking by in the background. I can’t really tell what the objects are that makes it mysterious but I like that I can make out some things like the truck and the person walking by. I also like your photo #6 because your eyes stand out nicely, but it might look even better if there was slightly more light around your eyes.

  6. Hi Debora,

You have a very eclectic bunch of photos and I really enjoyed looking at them. At first I thought my favorite photo was going to be #12 because I really like the framing of the two children and how they are whispering. It is such an innocent photograph and I love that. My favorite photo is actually #3. Going by the assignment, I think this is your most mysterious photograph. It is hard to tell what is inside the glass and what is being reflected in the glass. It makes you stop and look at what is really going on in the picture.

    Good job!

  7. Hi Debora~
Great job capturing a mysteriousness in your photographs, you have a wide variety of subject.

Overall, I enjoyed #7 the most. It really captured my attention because I have never really seen someone doing this! So, of course, it is mysterious to me. It looks to me like the subject is performing some type of ritual or tradition. The b&w filter give this photo a more meaningful feeling for me, since the subject is connected to the rocks on the ground, I feel a connection as well.

The composition of the photo is good as well. I like how you crouched down closer to the ground to take the picture rather than taking it at eye level, makes the picture much more interesting to me. The trees aligning the background of the scene are nice and let the eye move from one side of the picture to the other. Good job!

  8. Debora -

I love the haunted feel in image number 2. The contrast of the dark and brightness of the light was really nice. You were very successful at capturing mystery in your pictures. Great work!

  9. the first photo is my favorite. i think i stared at that one more than the others, it definitely is mysterious. i really enjoy the first half the set because it has a nice night time vibe which is always interesting with b/w photos. towards the last half there is no real mystery factor the photos. but overall good job. number 8 has a lot of good things going on too.
