  1. Hi Ryan!

I would have to say that #4 is my personal favorite. It appears to be from the view point of a peep hole in a door. I love how the door itself is completely underexposed, leaving only the hole view-able. The light passing through the hole just that little but adds dimension to the peep hole. The fish-eye effect that is achieved when looking through one of those is always an interesting thing to experience. The only thing I wish you could have done was get a little closer to the hole. I'm not sure if that was actually something you could have archived, but having the center pushed in, making it fill the frame just a bit more would have excelled this composition even further.

Great work! and drink every time I said peep hole or hole.

  2. I personally like number 10, although I would stay away from taking photos of buildings in the city. I enjoy how the flags are in motion, and the blur creates emphasis that a storm is brewing.

  3. Hi Ryan! I really enjoyed number 4 out of your photos. The key-hole-type composition makes me wonder what's on the other side, making me want to explore what's through that whole. That photo definitely portrays that mystery theme that this project was aiming towards. However, you have a couple photos with one subject in the whole frame that don't really have that theme that this project was going towards.

  4. hey ryan, first off, i really enjoy number 12. I once was cited for "trespassing" while taking a similar photo of a sign. So way to be brave, but be careful! In regards to my vote for the assignment ill have to go with number 4. I really enjoy the perspective of looking through that peep hole (for lack of a better term) and the mystery it conveys of the street and all its activity. Nice job

  5. Hey Ryan, I really liked number 4, its a very interesting and fun way to see the world when looking out of a peep hole. since you can only look out of a tiny circle your left to wonder what else is outside and where this is taken. The only thing I would suggest is that you zoomed din a little to take some of the back background out or just to un-center it. I feel like it would become even more appealing to the eye.

  6. Ryan, for me it is a toss-up between #’s 4 and 12. Both are great photos and both do the job of creating mystery. For the longest time my door didn’t have a peep-hole or windows so I was always afraid to answer the door because I didn’t know who was there – talk about mystery. Anyway, I like your idea to focus on the view from the look out. What I find interesting is that nobody is there which makes me wonder why.

Usually we look out these things when someone knocks so it is peculiar- in a good way! Only thing is I wish you had gotten your camera a little closer, or had the photo framed around the look-out because now I think there is a little too much black space.

On the other hand, you have a create use of space with #12. The entire frame provides its viewer with something to look at and to keep their eyes on. It is also a nice added touch how you tilted the camera so that the horizontal lines move diagonally across the space. The irony behind this photo is entertaining, I am wondering why photos aren’t allowed here, I don’t think anything in the photograph answers this curiosity which only fuels my inquiries.

I think if I had to choose it would come down to #12. Work on getting out more to less popular places like in #12, you show great potential in environments like this.

  7. Ryan -

Number four is my favorite of yours. I really like the contrast of light and dark and the mystery of the composition.
