  1. Hello Breanna! You have a lot of really nice photos, my favorite of the bunch being #13. I am noticing a theme in my interests as I comment on everyone’s photos and that is that I love the use of interesting foreground and background. This photo has that. I love how the distance is detailed, complicated and blurry but the foreground is simple and clear. Also, you have a nice use of intersecting lines and shapes which keep my eyes looking around the photo.

This picture is one of the group that makes me feel something. I take in the cloudy sky and gloomy atmosphere and I feel cold. All I want to do is grab that coffee. Something just seems so satisfying about sipping the hot drink and looking out at the grey day. The overall tone adds to that coldness but the coffee mug itself hints at warmth. It makes me want to know more. Whose is it? Where are they?

Overall, good job! Other favorites of mine were (5,7 and 14).

  2. Breanna-
I love number 3, I think the angle you shot this at is awesome. I love the flower on the sidewalk. It is exactly where it shouldn't be, but the color of the cement makes the flower pop. This is something I could see hanging on a wall at someones home. This is my POW !

For number 4, you should consider shooting this again for next week in panorama!

There may be too many photo's of the bar - I might explore more and create more mystery with your photos.

I enjoy number 1, the lighting emphasizes only some of the leaves and grapes and makes them look so appealing. I want to grab them off of the branches. There are so many different shades of green in this photo as well makes it even more appealing. Maybe experimenting with a different angle on this photo could make it even better :)

    NICE WORK !

  3. Breanna, I like the soft color you use in many of your photos. You definitely have an idea of how to keep the photos looking natural and not too saturated. I think my favorite is #1 because of the shadows. The grapes have a lot of good contrast. Additionally, you did the monochromatic thing pretty well with all of the green tones. Otherwise, I think the rest of your photos are also well done and have a pretty uniform feel as far softness and color. I also like the angle you used for #3 and how you got close to the subject and have your vanishing point in the top left. Nice job!

  4. Brenna, I love that you did not blow your photos out with color. The softness of the colors used in these images really add to them. The grapes are a very interesting photo and I enjoy that the entire picture was different shades of green. Also by cropping it the way you did really made me feel like this was a field of grapes or at least a large abundance of them. Not sure if it was just one bush or a lot but if it was just one I love the illusion.

I would have to say that favorite is number 13. I like how the background is out of focus but you can still see it is of Philly. I just get the feeling of an early morning relaxing by the window before a busy day begins. I also really loved number three. Great job on these!

  6. Brenna, you have some great photographs here! I really appreciate your use of light and color to complement each other. Numbers 4, 5 and 7 are really interesting to me. It's something about the way you captured the light, minimal light in fact, and the way you were able to capture the way the light plays off of the subject. I love the soft lighting in number 13 and the way it softness the colors, spilling over the rim of the coffee mug.

Number 7 is my favorite of your set. I absolutely love the location, your use of lines with the fence in the foreground and the way you capture the street lights bouncing off the wet (it looks wet?) street/alley in the background. I also enjoy how you chose to focus on the fence and not the background.

    Great job this week!

  7. Breanna,

I like your take on this assignment because you didn't blow your photos up with blasts of color. Your color is subtle, but it is still there. I like how your photos reflected what you were doing with your time and how you like to have fun. My favorite photo would have to be #3 because I feel like it says a lot without having a lot going on. It is a beautiful red flower on an empty sidewalk. I feel like this photo addresses loneliness in a vert subtle way. Great Job! and Keep it Up!

  8. 13 has my vote for POW i love how the focus is on the coffee cup and the rest is somewhat blurred but not to the point that its not clear...if that makes sense. The shadows on the window sill and the buildings in the background add a lot of depth in this photo. Overall i feel as though many of your photos had great color contrast and made for a very well done set. I also liked your self portrait for #14 it was a good way to frame the photo, job well done.

  9. Breanna -

I really enjoyed your collection of photos. I liked the way that you did not over saturate the color in any of your images. My POW would have to be number 5. I love the contrast between the brightness of the sky and the stone buildings. I also liked the angle that the image was taken at. Looking up at the buildings while I am walking through the city is one of my favorite things to do. Great work!
