Rachel! It was hard to choose a favorite but the one I kept going back to was #8, the taxi in the rain. You did an excellent job at capturing color in this photo. The purples and yellows complement each other here which makes for a great photo that. I like the stillness of the buildings but the intense movement of the taxi. It looks as if it is darting across this photo almost without touching the ground. I enjoy the overall composition and the fact that there is a slight sense of symmetry yet the frame is still slightly off center.
I found this photo inspiring and hopefully I can capture complimentary color as well as you did here. I think that the atmosphere of this photo, is bold. I think the pairing of yellow and purple give off a feel of confidence that emulates city life. The taxi knows where it’s going and it going to get there. Really nice technical use of color.
Rachel- I was instantly attracted to number 12, it is full of passion. It makes me want to be there in the field and enjoy what you are enjoying. Then I continue scrolling and number 13 also catches my eye, instead of wanting to be there, I feel like I am there. Number 13 is mesmerizing, I can actually feel what it is like to have taken this photo and that is very cool and unique.
My POW is number 1. I wish I could have done something like this. This photo is so creative and your ability to capture such lovely lights at night is awesome. I love the angle you chose for this and the timing was perfect with the lasers.
Rachel, my favorite of yours is #8. I like the blurring of the car and the lights surrounding it. It’s a great nighttime shot. I like that you tried different angles in your photos, especially in #9 and in your last self portrait. Also, a couple of your photos have nice pops of color which I think you should continue to keep doing! I would turn down the saturation a bit in your 3rd and 4th photos, but overall you have a nice set.
Hi Rachel, Wow! Look at that color! Really phenomenal capture of lightwork! Light in dark skies can be difficult to work with, but you nailed it! I would just tone down the warmth in three and four a tad bit. Number eight successfully breaks that typical city street photography cliche- may be it's the blur or the glow of the lights- whatever it is, it's working! Nice framework on number nine and in number ten, it seems like the leaf is coming out of the frame because of that darkness behind it- whether intentioned or not, very cool trick. My absolute favorite is number 16. I have not seen anything like it before. The angle is perfect, the wallpaper, the hanging things, and you in the corner- all of it. So impressive. I vote number sixteen as the POW!!
Rachel I really like your pictures. Your subject matter is great and makes for interesting photos. I have no clue where pictures one and two were taken but it looks like it would be a fun place on the weekend. I like how even though this assignment was about color you did not feel the need to saturate your pictures, they don't need it.
My favorite is by far number 8. I just love all the different layers of it. You can see the rain on the window a cab wizzing by but the city is still in the background. Very artistic and creative shot. I don't think it would have this great of an effect if it were in black and white and I think that's why it makes for a perfect color passion photo. Great job on all of these!
My favorite photo was number 2. It had a lot of color and I think it best evoked the theme of passion. I liked to see transformation throughout your photos. You began to make the colors more subtle as you took more. This is really one of my favorite sets. You always bring a unique perspective to the photo projects.
My vote for photo of the week goes out to #6. I think this photo has a lot of really good color contrast with the variation of colors. Your blue shirt as well as the yellow smock really pop surrounded by all the bland colored clay and white walls. Many of your photos had really great coloring so it made it pretty hard to pick a favorite. I think its evident because people have a variety in voting for the same picture, therefore leading me to believe that you did a great job overall. Self portrait #15 was also very well done.
I really enjoyed looking through your photos. The order that you placed them in worked really nicely. I liked your pictures of the city at night for the contrast with the light that was created. Photo 12 is my favorite. I love the composition and the light of this image. It is a very nice moment that you were able to capture and feels very serene.
