Breanna, I absolutely love how you organized your photos. Your really did an excellent job and accomplished what the professor was looking for. There are so many photos here that I remember being intrigued by during our previous critiques. This makes it difficult to decide on what should be your picture of the year. I enjoy every one of your chapters! I am going to list some of my favorites: Second photo in chapter one, "Forbidden Places", third photo in chapter two," Embracing Nature", fourth photo in chapter "The Road Less Traveled", third photo in chapter "Linear Motives" and third photo in chapter titled "Comforts of Life". My all time favorite I think is the photo of the coffee cup and the skyline in Chapter five. I voted for this as one of your POW and now for your Picture of the Year. There is so much to it that I love. I think it is one of your most successful photos and one that many of us can relate to. Overall, really nice work!
Breanna, you've organized such a wonderful portfolio! Every chapter is great! I see a lot of my favorites that you've taken throughout the semester. But, I think my vote of your POY is going to be one that is new to us. The fourth photo in your 3rd chapters 'The Road Less Traveled By' is my vote and for so many reasons. The most prominent being the the rain droplets on the window being in focus with the farm land you're driving by being soft focus and the fact that you can see the long road behind you though the side view mirror. The framing is beautiful. The entire composition is nostalgic to me, creating this sense of memory and longing.
Hey Breanna, this along with your previous critiques came out great. The way that the final portfolio is organized makes for easy viewing which is always a good thing. I doo have to go with the coffee cup with the skyline backdrop. I too also voted for this as the POW. Its something about the simplicity of a daily routine intertwined with the extended sight that we get to see. As college students I think its easily relatable to a lot of our daily routines especially as we are in the midst of final exams. I really like how the focus is on the coffee cup with leaves the background a little blurry, enough to create curiosity. Overall I really enjoyed your work throughout the year you did an awesome job!
Great job on your final portfolio. The way you organized the set and chapters was very cohesive. I think your nature and linear motives sets were the strongest. I am voting your POY as the 4th photo in "Linear Motives." I think this was an incredibly intriguing photograph with a lot of interesting content to look at. Still, I'm not completely sure what I'm looking at, and that adds an element of mystery. Overall, I really enjoyed your photographs. Take care =)
Great organization in your portfolio. I vote your first photo in the 'linear motives' chapter. The vibe with this one is really cool. Overall I enjoyed the flow of this set and I also want to comment on your perspective for a lot of them with the worm's eye view. Great job in finding different and interesting angles to shoot from. cool
Hi Breanna, I really enjoyed your work this semester. You have a really unique body of work here. There are so many creative shots with abnormal angles. My favorite quality of yours is your tendency towards linear patterns. I absolutely love the chapter "Linear Motives". My favorite was between the first and the fourth shot, but I'll vote number 4 in that chapter as POY. There is something about it that I bring myself to look away from. It's just fascinating. Really great work!
I really like the way you have organized your photos. It's great that so many of them fit into the topics that you have without it being a stretch to wonder why a certain photo is included amongst others. My favorite chapter is Linear Motives. I love the lines and how you have been able to capture them in ways that are very different than how one would encounter them in the world. My favorite photo overall would be the second one in this chapter.
Breanna I've enjoyed your photographs throughout the semester and you have really done a nice job choosing appropriate chapters for the portfolio. Number 3, in linear motives is so adorable. I actually like this entire chapter. My favorite is the 5th one because of how unsure I feel about it being the floor or the ceiling, it will forever be a mystery! As I mentioned in my comments on another portfolio, I love to see everyone so passionate about nature. It becomes such a great thing to take photographs of that I even got a little carried away. My POY is number 1 from "embracing nature" I really enjoy how focused the camera is on these tiny little pods and that you've turned such a delicate piece of flower into the highlight of the photo. I enjoy the background colors as well, and appreciate how you are unable to distinguish what the items are and just simply using them as a background of splattered smeared cool color. Great work all semester, hope you had fun!
Breanna, You had amazing work throughout the semester and I always enjoyed looking at your pictures. I have a lot of favorites making it hard to pick a POY. Chapter 4 was my overall favorite chapter, with the first picturing being my favorite. I love clean lines and this picture shows that beautifully. For you POY though I would have to pick number 3 in chapter two. The colors, the angle it was shot from and the lighting just keep drawing me back in.
1. Hi Breanna! Beautiful photographs. I enjoyed your portfolio very much. I can see that over this course you have developed a nice style and I love how your editing is never over done. The names of your chapters are really interesting along with all the photos that accompany each chapter. I could choose about 6 photos as POY but since we can only choose one, I choose the second photo in your first chapter. The composition is perfect. I loveeee the color so much. The yellow of the caution tape (also love how its pulling off the frame), the pink tulips are so subtle, it really makes Philly look beautiful, and the bricks. Goodjob!
Every critique I was always impressed with what you produced. Great shooting and I hope you continue with taking pictures because it is a talent that you have. My favorite chapter of yours would have to be Linear Motives. I like how eclectic the photos are and how they are all related in some way or another. My POY for you would be the fourth photo in the Linear Motives chapter. It is so surreal and moving that I just feel something positive when I look at it. Good Job!!
