First off, I am in love with the picture of the doors open. Second I think it would be cool if you did a chapter some how relating to water, I think it would pull a lot of them together well!
Maria, I am voting for the photo of the truck (the fifth photo down in your first album titled, "Pathways"). I previously voted for this photo for your POW but I think it deserves another vote for your Picture of the Year. This photo captures so much and it really stands out from other photos we have seen. I love the way you edited it and the warms almost shines right through to the audience. You were able to find success in the many aspects you achieved here. It has been nice seeing your work this semester!
Maria, I am in love with your first chapter. Every photo has something that makes it stand out to me form all the rest. It is such a beautiful collection of your skills you have demonstrated throughout this semester. My POY vote was hard to decided on because I was stuck between the first photograph and the fifth. The more I thought about it and stared at the two photographs, the more I was drawn back to the fifth one. I believe I voted for that as your POW when you first posted it. I just love the warm glow the covers the entire composition and how the sun is shining through the trees, hitting the truck as it drives towards the darkness in the foreground.
Maria, right away the first chapter is captivating. Immediately I really enjoyed number 1 and it gets my vote in terms of POY. There are a lot of things that make this photo very appealing, starting with the lights and the darks that are seen. As well as the extended sight that allows you to not only see out of the building and into the woods but down into what looks to be a lake or body of water. Also the way that the photo was framed worked well with what was being captured as well. Overall this was a great set of photos and I really enjoyed seeing your work throughout the semester.
Maria, great stuff here, you picked some really nice photos for your final! My favorite and my vote for your POY will have to be your very first photo posted here. I just love the gateway theme and the wide open door. The lighting and colors are fantastic as well. Good job!
Maria, your first photo is so lovely! I don't remember seeing it before, so I'm guessing it's a new one. It's a great way to start off your portfolio, it's very welcoming and feels filled with possibilities. It's something that I'd want a print of hanging up! I choose this for your POY. Great job filling out your portfolio with some new shots.
Lots of subject matter here, but i really enjoy your last photo in the 'water' set. Something about the outdoors that always makes for a great panorama. I think you captured a solid composition with this one. I vote this as POY. Third one down in the 'dusk' set is really cool too. Good job.
Maria, I love your photos! However, while looking through them, I could stop thinking of #1 in your chapter Pathway. That is my choice for your POY. I like how your put it first too! I like the colors in it and the feeling it immediately gave me. It reminded me of a scene in a movie, and made me want to explore and see what was down the path. Throughout all of your photos, you had a good sense for color and perspective. I really enjoyed your work for this portfolio, but good job on the semester as a whole!
My favorite photo is #4 in the water chapter. The reflection you've captured is beautiful. You have done a great job of grouping your photos together in a concise manner that gives variety as far as subject throughout yet similarity in the style you used to capture it. Great job!
Maria, You have an amazing portfolio and I really enjoyed your pictures throughout the semester. I am going to vote for your first picture in "Pathways" for your POY. It is such a simple picture but I feel like it captures so much. Berkowitz always talked about pictures that lead him places and the way you framed and composed this picture you are leading the person viewing it past the actual picture. I love it!
Maria, I love your chapter titles and how well you organized your photos within each. I wish I could choose more than one POY because I really enjoy many of your photos. Since we can only choose one I am going to go with photo 1 from your chapter ‘Pathway’. I think all of your photos from this chapter represent the title beautifully. Photo number ones pathway is the one that I am most attracted too. It has so many elements, the contrast of the doorway and outside, the path leading from outside the building, the wooden floor, and the mountains in the background. This path to me represents your improvement through the semester! I am going to miss seeing everyone express their creativity through photographs. Overall, awesome job this semester!
