Hi Allison. You have a lot of really great shots, I love the playground ones, what brings back a memory more than that!! My POW would have to be #11, this is something I see everyday in my yard and you captured it so perfectly. The one zinnia left, holding on to life and the last minutes of warmth, the rest of them dead giving into the cold air and winter as it approaches. Really nice job.
Allison, I don’t quite know what it is about #9 but it says memory. Maybe it’s the fact that it reminds me of the garden my family used to have or perhaps it is the way you edited it to give it a different feel. Probably both! I like the dark yet subtle shadows on the wood and the earthy colors. I am not sure what edits you used but overall they work great in this photo. It makes me wonder how this represents memory for you. Other favorites are #3 and #16. I think that overall your photos work at taking its viewer back in time by the way you shoot older items that resemble memories for many of us. Nice work!
Hi, Allison! This set is really great. My favorites are numbers 2, 9 and 11. My vote for your POW is #9. The warm earthly colors and what looks like some kind of yellowish tint (maybe? possibly? whether it was created after the photo was taken or naturally), combined with that specific subject matter remind me of when I was little and would go to the farm by my house to buy hay and food for the rabbits we (still) breed. The farm has fences just like that, enclosing gardens and other animals within the property. Good work!
Allison, great work. From 2-7 you've really got me remembering the days when I would go to the playground. Sometimes I still go, but with a child that I am babysitting (I would totally go alone if it didn't look strange). The memories that come back with these photo's is something special and you've captured them in very unique ways. There is definitely a Fall theme going on throughout everyone's photo's this topic. I really like number 14, it reminds me of an old house from a halloween movie. Very spooky ! Number 11 draws me into it with the color of the flower petal, great use of the advantages of whatever app you chose to use while editing this. My POW is number 3 because of how you have strategically captured this swing "swinging". It is so inviting but also mysterious. Great work on this set!
Hey Allison- You have a playfully vintage set of photographs here! The playground shots evoke some strong nostalgia, especially the swings in number three. Number 4 has a pretty wild angle of view. I love the cyclical pattern. And I admire how the series flows from playful to industrial/serious content. I vote number 4 for pow!
My favorite photo is number 4. I think I was an interesting perspective to a playground scene. You set reminds me of things I used to do as a child like going to the farm and playground. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. I also enjoyed 14 and 8. I wish you tried more with your self portraits, though!
Great shots of the park that you were at. I really like the feel of being a kid again. My POW for you would have to be photo #3 because it is just so eerie. It's innocent because it is swings at a park, but the way you added the faded effect makes it feel like a horror movie or something bad is about to happen. I think it is really great if a person can take a picture that changes the way another person feels, just by looking at it.
I really like number nine. It caught my attention right away and I did get the feeling that this gate could truly be a part of a childhood memory. It looked intriguing but also inviting with a little but of mystery behind it. That had to be my favorite from this set but I also really enjoyed number 16 and the coloring was great in number 10. These were great to look at, keep it up.
2 is my favorite because instantly it reminds me of grade school, so certainly brings back memories from a long time ago. The paint looks as though it has begun to fade which represents its age. I thought a lot of these photos were extremely well done, it made it very difficult to choose one. This was a really strong set with lots of great color, well done.
