Rachel, Throughout the semester your work continued to impress me. I love your style and ability to capture things the way you do. Honestly, I am kind of sad to see this class end because I will miss seeing everyone creative expressions! Anyway, it was difficult for me to choose because so many of your photos are so great. Let me start by saying, I really enjoyed your portfolio. It is organized extremely well and it was very fun to look through. When I got to the last chapter I was really impressed to see all of your self-portraits. I have to say, they are really amazing. These photos exude creativity and you can see the effort and enjoyment you had in creating them. Actually, I think I had chosen three of these for your POW. Now for your Picture of the Year I am going to do the same. The second photo in your Body and Spirit chapter is my favorite. I think his photo demonstrates how much you improved (though you were still very good from the start). It adds several different/new aspects than the other had before including the ability to relay certain sensations. What I mean is that when I look at this photo not only am I engaged with it but I also feel encompassed by it as if I can feel the cold air. Al in all, great job! I love your work here.
Rachel, your chapters are beautiful! And, to no surprise. You have this unique style that has impressed me throughout the semester and this portfolio sums it up completely. From top to bottom, the way your organized it is perfect. I enjoyed scrolling through it very slowly, haha!
As for your Photo of the Year, I am going to agree with Brooke and say the second photo from your Body and Spirit chapter. When I first saw it, I spend a good minute just looking at it and studying every inch of it. The color reproduction, framing, lighting... everything came together beautifully in that composition. With the bare trees, snow on the ground and your breath creating moisture in the air, I can feel the cold. It reminds me of my favorite winter days when the sun is shining right on top of you and you can feel just that little bit of warmth, even though it is freezing outside.
Rachel, this set pf photos for your final portfolio turned out awesome! No surprise as the work you produced all semnester was of great quality. In terms of POY my vote comes from chapter 2. Seeing the world through different perspectives with what looks to be a shot of whiskey. Instantly I noticed how the reflection of the light almost looks to create a diamond which I thought looked extremely cool! The amber color is awesome very cool, as well as the way the photos framing capturing from a birds eye angle to get both the shot glass as well as its shadow. Again, awesome work this semester I really enjoyed the work you created.
Wow your organization here was great! It really adds to the skillful shots you are displaying. I agree with Ryan. My favorite is the photo of the shot of whiskey. There's just so many components here to admire. The suns reflection through the glass, the shadows being casted, the downward angle. Just a great job and its got my vote for your POY
Lots of good stuff happening in this portfolio. You have a good amount of diversity with content and editing processes. Your third to last photo (self portrait) is awesome. I love a lot of things you did throughout the semester. Photos 4 and 5 in 'natures beauty' are terrific. My vote for your POY would have to be the self portrait (number 4). But man, I have favorites from each one of your chapters to be honest. You did a great job with editing and showing your skills with each assignment. Your portfolio is also organized extremely well too. It flows perfectly. I think you might be my favorite in the class. Beautifully done.
This is one of my favorite portfolios. You've really done some great work over the semester, I agree with Lauralea in saying that you have a very unique style, its a great thing! I'm absolutely loving your first chapter. I think nature is such a beautiful thing and i'm glad to see that you feel that it's important enough to include in your final portfolio. My favorite chapter of yours is the body & spirit. You've done a great job really allowing the class to get to know your through your photographs and I find that very fascinating. My My POY is one of your new ones, the last photograph in chapter 2. I am so drawn to this photo with the light and the scene. I love the way you have captured the person's backside creating such a mysterious yet beautiful photograph. Great work putting together your portfolio, hope you had fun this semester!
I really liked your "seeing the world through different perspectives" chapter because it really highlights the chances you've been taking with your photography throughout the semester. My vote for POY is number 5 from that chapter. I can tell that there is tea but it leaves for so many questions to be answered. Cool shot.
Beautiful. Your work is breath taking. Every critique I loved looking at what you would put up. You have a very good eye and are able to use the apps in a way that truly do enhance your photos rather than make them looked edited or fake. The photos that you have added to complete your final portfolio really do add to the content. I also really loved your chapter titles, they were creative and the photos that followed them were organized very well. I am going to pick the last photo from seeing the world from different perspectives as your POY. I think this is a very journalistic type of photograph and that is what I love about it. It can strand strong on its own but when paired with that chapter title you are almost forced the imagine his life and see it through his eyes. You have many other strong photos that could easily be your POY but that was the one that stood out to me the most. Such a great job this semester, I feel like I learned and got better from looking at your photos. Have a good winter break.
Rachel, I loved all of your photos and it was very enjoyable to look through the new ones that you added. For your POY, I would have to choose your fourth picture in the Nature's Beauty. I really like how you combine man and nature. The rowers are so subtle that one almost doesn't seem them. Great work this year!

Wonderful job, with this and the entire semester!

ReplyDeleteI adore all of your pictures. They are beautiful!!! I love your second picture in the first collection, and I am choosing it for POY.
