I love the titles of your chapters, I am struggling with mine. The way you have grouped your photos so far is great. Can't wait to see the new ones you add in.
ReplyDeleteBrooke I must say that I was genuinely excited to see your finished product regarding the final portfolio. Throughout the semester you have produced very high level work that I envy. Number 1 in the chapter Introspection: The Virtue of Solitude I think has to be my favorite and have my vote regarding POY. I am curious as to how the photo was created. Along with the second photo in the chapter they are both great. Its tough to decide with your set with so much great work, the creativity, the boldness, the colors, the framing, there is a lot of great aspects that make up your work. Well done and continue doing what you're doing!
ReplyDeleteBrooke, I don't want to choose a favorite. I refuse!
ReplyDeleteYou're work throughout the semester has been by far one of the strongest of this entire class. I was so very excited to see your finished portfolio. You've continued to push the limits when it came to using light and texture to accentuate whatever topic we had each assignment. With that being said, I am love every single photo in your 'Light Illuminates Our Lives'. The lighting, cool colors and framing of every one of them is wonderful. Although if I must choose a single photo as your POY, I will go with he second of that chapter. It beautifully haunting. The moon (or sun?? you never know lol) shining through the clouds, casting just a smidgen of light upon the trees and the house. Very cold and very ominous. I love it!
Absolute wonderful job, here and all semester!
Wow, excellent way to group the photos! I especially love the self-portraits. They are definitely the strongest group of work, although all your work as a whole is strong enough! But overall, my vote for photo of the year vote will have to go with #2 in exposing hidden reflections. I remember this shot from earlier this year and it still amazes me with the reflection and the silhouette's all in the same shot!
ReplyDeleteBrooke, it's definitely hard to choose a favorite, but I think I would choose #2 from your "Light" chapter. I think you really got the colors right, with the light blue sky behind the trees, except it appears to be at night. I like the angle that you shot this at too, capturing a lot of the sky and trees. The whole shot has a very hazy feel and it immediately intrigued me. While I think I love all of your photos, this one initially caught my eye and I kept going back to it. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteLots of good things going on with this portfolio! Number 3 in your 'light illuminates our lives' is definitely my favorite. Not only is it a great composition but the black/white editing here makes it look like a film photo in a good way. Number 1 in your last set is also really great. I enjoy a lot of these photos. Good job throughout the semester!
ReplyDeleteBrooke,
ReplyDeleteMuch like the rest of the semester, I love your whole set.Especially your multiple exposure/extended seeing shots. That was definitely one subject I struggled with, so I admire your skill! With that being said, I'm going to go with #1 in your Introspection: The Virtue of Solitude chapter as your POY. That photo especially captured me, but great job on the rest, as well as your work throughout the rest of the semester!
Brooke,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your double exposure photos. You collection seems t have the same color scheme which is nice. My favorite photo is number 5 from the Introspection chapter. My favorite chapter though is exposing hidden reflections.
Brooke,Throughout this semester I have always loved your photos and felt that you really took the assignment to the next level. You have done that again here with your final chapters and the photos you took to fill up the chapters really showed you direct shooting skills and add to your portfolio. This class is a smartphone photography class but I feel like many of your photos look like they could be professionally shot, for example number 5 in the virtue of solitude and number number one in hidden reflections. All of your photos are beautiful but I think your strongest had to be number five from the virtue of solitude. It is such a powerful and emotional shot. The lighting, angle, color and overall framing of this piece is perfect. Amazing job this semester I loved looking at all of your photos.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed looking through all of your work this semester. It has been difficult for me to choose my favorite photo of yours. My vote for POY is number 5 in your Introspection chapter.
Brooke,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad we met this semester. I enjoyed all of your work, you seemed to make this look so easy, like it was second nature. I really had a hard time picking a POY for you. Every self-portrait you did amazed me more than the previous. The whole introspective chapter is amazing. My POY, if I have to chose, would be #4 in your first chapter. I love the way the color turned out and the water as well. It looks so realistic.
Brooke,
ReplyDeleteIt has been such a great semester seeing your photographs. I agree with you, I am going to miss this class so much! Your portfolio is so beautiful, it does a really great job at displaying your unique sense of style. I wish I could chose more than one for POY because I would choose a lot, but sense we can only chose one, I chose 1 from your chapter Introspection: The Virtrude and Solitude. It is so lovely and I think it is great representation of your overall style this semester. The contrast between the person in the frame and the wooden floor / leaves is so captivating. It gives me a sense of home and I really enjoy that. I would love some prints of your photos one day! Great job this semester.
Brooke,
ReplyDeleteWow. Just wow. I always love your photos. Trying to pick my favorite photo for you as always been difficult for me. I am going to pick photo #3 in the Light Illuminates Our Lives chapter. It is so cool how you utilized lighting and the space of the photograph. It just seems to say a lot in a very subtle way and I really like that.
Great work this year!
