  1. Thank you for the nice comment Chelsea, your chapters look really well categorized. Your titles are good too. You asked for advice and the only things I came up with are 1) having less photos in your extra chapter and having more emphasis on other chapters. And 2) I noticed a lot of industrial photos throughout the shots posted. Maybe you could pull them out and start a new chapter.

  3. Chelsea, It is good to see that you were able to make use of my advise! Maybe I am a little biased but your industrial chapter is my favorite. It really shows that your adaptability and ability to use direct shooting. You were able to bring together a group of photos and go out and take shots that would fit in collectively with this group. The fourth photo down in the industrial chapter really describes this ability.
For me I am stuck between two photos. The one I mentioned here and the first photo in your industrial chapter. Both of these photos are great and capture something unique. It is hard to side with one because they both are well done. I think my final choice is the fourth down in the industrial chapter for you Picture of the Year as it shows your ability to rise to a challenge and your progress up to the end.
    Overall, good work!

  4. Chelsea, you've got some wonderful chapters creating a great portfolio, here! The photo I am most drawn to is the fourth one down in your first chapter. The bareness of the trees, the clear blue of the sky and the sun poking through the horizon and squeezing between the trees is just beautiful to me. I can feel the cold air. What I love the most is the starry effect that the lens created of the sun, as if it were piercing through the phone. With that being said, I vote that as your POY.

You've done a great job, all around!

  5. Chelsea, you put together a great final portfolio. My vote for POY has to go to the first picture in the group city living. I just love the framing the way that the window cut out really makes you focus on the city skyline. Also the editing as well as the shadows that's casted creates a cool effect that I enjoyed. I think you had a lot of really great photos that made it tough to narrow it down to one. You had a lot of great shots this semester and I always enjoyed viewing your work, great job.

  6. Job well done here chelsea. My pic for your POY is the black and white shot at what seems to be a live concert or event of some sorts. I think choosing a black and white filter was perfect for this shot. There's a great contrast between parts of the photo that is all black, like the people and parts that are all white, like the balloons. The photo also holds a lot of emotion.

  7. Chelsea,
I without a doubt will vote for number 4 in the tree of life chapter for your POY, seems that it is new, I don't remember this being in any of your sets from the semester. If it was, I truly missed it. The contrast between the colors is brilliant. The green of the tree being emphasized by the brown of the trunk is amazing. I love this photograph. You've done a really nice job creating chapters. I really also enjoy photograph 1 in the industrial chapter. It looks as though you've spun around and around creating mystery on what exactly this object is. I really enjoy your portfolio from this semester and have enjoyed your sets as well. Each of your chapters is straight to the point and they are focused on the title. Great work, hope you had fun this semester.

  8. My vote for POY would go to photo 4 in your first chapter. I love the chapter itself. I find it so cool how trees can be so artistic while being just trees. Your portfolio as a whole is great and you did a good job of grouping shots together that fit while also maintaining differences throughout the chapter.

  9. Chelsea,
I have really enjoyed your photos throughout the semester; I am really going to miss this class and the creativity everyone brings to it. I wish we could pick more than one POY because I love a lot of yours.

My POY goes to photo 4 in you chapter City Living. Although Professor says city landscapes are clichés – I feel like this photo breaks that cliché. It has so many layers to it; the train going by, the bushes on each end of the train, the clouds (which reminds of the Toy Story wallpaper!), and of course, the Philly sky line. All of these elements make the picture so unique and displays Philly in a beautiful way. I would love to have it printed hanging in my apt actually! Overall, really awesome photographs this semester.

  10. Chelsea, I really like your final portfolio and I had a hard time picking just one picture, you had so many great ones. I am going to go with your first picture in your industrial chapter for your POY. I am not even sure what it is?!?! but I love it. It is different and brings me back. I feel like I am looking through a microscope in a way. I really like it.

  11. Chelsea,
I really enjoyed your final portfolio and looking at the new photos that you added to it. You had a lot photos that seemed to go together a lot more than others did. For instance, The Tree of Life chapter all seem to be in the right place. I had a difficult time picking my POY, but if I had to chose, it would be the third photo in the Contrast with Black and White chapter. I am a bike person so that automatically hooked me, but the whole picture I just think is balanced very well. Good job!
