  1. Hi Sarah!
Of your set I would say that #2 should be your POW. This is a very nice panorama! You seemed to be having a lot of fun with them - overall, you have a lot of great photos here. What I like about #2 is the overall feeling I get from looking at it. The setting is very interesting and peaks my curiosity. I really love how the sun sneaks in over the side of the abandoned building and shines across part of your photo. In contrast the corn field looks cool and damp. I can feel the heat radiating on it from the sun which seems to appear out of nowhere. It reminds me of those long rainy days when the sun comes out just long enough for us to see it set. The isolated and rural church keeps bringing me back and I wonder about it.
Really nice photo and well done technically. The angle is great and how you filtered in all aspects of this scene by choosing to take a panorama really draw it all together!
    Good work!

  2. Hmmmm I sense a theme in this set of photographs lol. Very well, Sarah! I would also have to agree with Brooke here and say that #2 is definitely your strongest, but I also like #9. The panoramic shot is great. The biggest thing that drove me into choosing this one as your POW is the sun and how you were able to capture the sun hitting the stalks of corn in the background of the photograph. The sun's rays go from the right side of the frame and land on the left creating such a warm glow on the corn. It's like. Yay corn and creepy old cemeteries. It's like this.. "ehhh this is creepy where's the religious cult of children? but, it's so pretty don't worry about it." Good job!

  3. Wow another great set of photos! everyone in this class is doing so well and you are no exception. Your best photo in my opinion is number 2. There is so much going on and so much to see in this photo, its just excellent. A church at the edge of a corn field as the sun is setting, so cool!

  4. Sarah, you have a really strong set here. I like the content and the theme in your first few shots. The context is kind of creepy, and the extended seeing/panoramic (literally) extends that. But my favorite is #2... It captures that creepy theme, but the colors and the sunlight brighten it up. It reminds me of like, the end of a scary movie. Like a new beginning to something that was once a little dark. I feel like the photo needs a story behind it. I like photos with context like that. Great job on this set!

  5. I think you do best with the panorama shots here. #2 is my favorite, I really like photos in rural settings and it’s a good contrast being students in the city. I like the barn as a subject and the lens flare from the sun is a nice touch. There's just a lot of great things to look at. The graveyard shots are also really cool and they’re a close second for me, but I think there is too many of them which makes them lose value a bit. To make the set a little stronger, I would pick one, (maybe #6?) and fill the set with some other subjects to mix it up. Nice job overall though!

  6. There's a lot of good things going on with this post! #3-#7 make for striking photos. There's something powerful about the headstones against the sky. They remind me of stills from a movie. #4 gets my vote for your POW. I love the color in #8 as well. All the slow exposure shots look great too! I wish I had something more interesting I could have done with that aspect of the assignment. Overall I think you did a really good job with this one. You killed it with a lot of the effects.

  7. You have a lot of great pictures and I really enjoyed your vertical panoramas. Number three caught my eye, it is taken at such a great angle and makes it look so tall, almost like if you were looking at the top you wouldn't be viewing the bottom. I also really enjoyed number 8 as well. The subject itself it great and then by making it a slight panorama really captures a great view. For the slow shutter speed I enjoyed number 15. It almost looked retro in the coloring of it and I got a disco roller balding vibe (but that's just me) It makes it interesting that the person is never really in focus, I liked that about it! My POW would have to be number 8, it is just a great shot to me. But I would love to learn how you made number 15. Great job this week!

  8. Very cool set! For the POW I would go with # 15. The effect that it has makes the picture very interesting. I really like the pics you took in the cemetery, 1 because it's in a cemetery and 2 because of the contrast in colors you have, such as photo 6. I like how it goes from light to dark as you pan across the photo.

  9. Sarah -

I love your set of pictures for this topic. I enjoyed how all of your images fit together. My favorite of yours is number 3. I love how the sun is bursting through creating multiple focal points. Great composition and color also. Awesome job this week!

  10. Hi Sarah,
I really enjoyed your photos this time around. A few of my favorites include; 2, 3(so pretty!), and 9. I enjoy 9 because it is a great use of slow shutter speed. The photo feels a but hectic and colorless until you see the man in the straw hat moving through the frame. He creates a warm vibe for me. Since he is walking off the frame, it makes me want to know where he is going. Great way to show extended seeing, Sarah!

  11. Sarah your photos look great for this set. Maybe a little more variety would benefit you but i could take my own advice! 8 is my favorite, for whatever i have always had a thing for abandoned things, which it appears those trains are. The extension of our view by making the photo a panoramic really adds a lot for this picture. The color contrast is cool too with the green, yellow, blue, as well as the rust. Great set of photos!
