Brooke, your photos are excellent! And, that makes it really hard for me to choose which one I like the most. Numbers 8, 16 & 18 are beautifully done probably my favorite of all. But, I think if I had to choose, I would go with 16. I think it has a lot to do with the color and lighting and how very cinematic it looks to me, almost as if it were a still from a film. The contrast in colors and light between both rooms is great, my favorite thing about it. The fact that both rooms are empty, one light fairly bright while the other is dark is very haunting to me and the slight warping of the tables on each side only adds to that. It also makes me wonder, "what would come through that dark archway into the dining room if this were a scary movie?" Good job on all of them!
Brooke!!! You did such an amazing job with this crit! I had such a hard time this go around and you clearly put in a lot of time and effort in all of your pictures. All of your self portraits are unique and beautifully done. I am curious at how you did some of these, the thought behind them is evident in the pictures you produced. I would have to agree with Lauralea, if I had to pic just one picture I would choose 16. It has that thing that Berkowitz talks about, draws me to it and keeps bringing me back. I feel like at any second someone is going to walk through the picture. It plays tricks on my mind, I keep thinking it's two pictures then the doorway keeps drawing me back to it being one. Great Job!!!
wow brooke, this set is incredible, to say the least. you did amazing, from your panoramas, to long exposure, to your self portraits. It hard for me to choose a favorite but my vote for your POW this crit will have to be number 4 with the water long exposure. Im not sure how you did it, i tried so hard and could not get any good shots. So nice job!!
Brooke, this is such an awesome set. I really struggled to come up with my favorite, but I'm gonna have to go with #7. I really wanna know how you did that, or what app you used!! I like how the main subject is the tiny man in the distance, but the frame has such an interesting composition, that it takes away from having one strong subject, and transforms the photo into something more abstract. I really had to look at it and think about what was going on, and what you did to get that. It reminded me of looking down a tube of some sort. Your set, as a whole, really shows the concept of extended seeing. Amazing job!!
Brooke, I really enjoyed your photos. they all seem to go well with each other and you can tell that yo have a certain style of shooting. Number 3 really caught my eye. I love the close up of the leaf because they are so delicate and have so much detail in them. the blurry background with the paling leafs from the tree really complement the photo. In number 6 the use of your shadow is so playful and awesome! Number 7 confused me soo much until i read you explanation of how you did it on the recipe page and decided to try it for myself. Although I know you manipulated it at first glance I really was wondering where there was a tunnel like this! I still have no idea how you did number 9 and it really caught my attention. Also number 10 is great. I am looking forward to read the recipes for this assignment. Basically I love all your photos and I a, going to vote 10 and 9 as your POW. Great job! I look forward to seeing how you made these!
Brooke this set was awesome and I thought you really hit the nail on the head with this group of photos. My personal favorite although its pretty tough to choose would have to be number 5. The picture is very well done between the beautiful fall colors and the depth that is added by the water and the leaves that are submerged. You really did a good job with every aspect of the assignment, awesome job. It was certainly a tough task to try and narrow it down to one photo.
There's a really great range of content in this list along with different effects. I like that. Good job experimenting and pushing what you can do with these apps. I would vote #17.#12 as runner up. I'm not really sure why I like it but its interesting and I like the composition. The overall tone of that photo is interesting. The last shot looks great with the exposure and everything. Compositionally speaking, everything looks sound. Overall, I like what you've been posting.
I really like that your photos are cohesive! Your photos have similar color schemes and the first part of the photo set have a woodland theme, which I absolutely adore. I vote for #6 for POW. I love how you captured the long shadow.
Brooke! I am so inspired by your pictures. They are all well thought out and creatively composed. Some of them are so abstract, I am curious to see how some of these were done. That being said, I think all of your photos this time around are amazing, it was hard to choose just one. Some of my favorites; 6, 7, 8 (love the spooky feeling), and 10. Since I have to choose just one, I pick #7. This is such a unique picture because I can’t tell what size the mossy tube actually is. It is a great way to show extended seeing. I also enjoy how the colors in the photo aren’t overwhelming. Awesome job Brooke :)
Your pictures are absolutely beautiful!! I love that they all go together and feel like a collection. My favorite of yours is number 3. I enjoyed the fact that there are multiple focal points with the falling leaves in the back along with the sharpness of the one in the front.
Brooke- Every week I look forward to your photo's. Great job as usual!! They absolutely go together like a collection, i agree with Maria 100 percent! You are so creative. Number 9 is my absolute favorite POW! I love how the hands overlap on top of the tree, the use of black and white really benefits this photo as well as really eliminates the contrast and incorporates the hand as part of the tree.
You have mastered the ability to take amazing photos. I am officially envious of your skill. The way that you utilized phone effects and apps is really cool. I had a lot of trouble picking a favorite photo this week. I'm going to go with photo #9 because I had to do a double take to make sure I was seeing what I thought I was seeing. It's subtle, but it works really well, I think. Great job this week!
