Hello Emily! You have some really amazing self-portraits, I can tell you put a lot of thought into them. Your success really shows determination and creativity. Your self-portraits are my favorite, very unique. My favorite was #4 until I scrolled down and saw #17. It is just so visually stimulating. It makes me think, What is going on? It shows a lot but still leaves a lot to imagination. The contrast and sepia tinted black and white work well together to emulate mystery. There is so much to compliment here - The lighting from the window, the angle the photo was taken at , as well as your choice to do black and white. You have a very unique taste that I find intriguing. You seem very daring and adventurous, good work!
Hi Emily, your photographs are beautiful. I have many favorites in this set, numbers 10, 12, 13 and 17 are extremely well done. I vote number 13 as your POW, though. Great panoramic. I caught myself staring at it for prolonged period of time, trying to unravel the distortion you were able to capture. In my mind I was flattening out the photograph and placing myself in your position in order to see what it is you see from your point of view and what it is that you can't see. Very mysterious. The entire room is rounded, almost as if you were trapped in a ball of mirrors, giving the viewer the ability to see every angle around you. (the only angles missing are what is to the left and right of you) Great job!
wow, such an interesting and unique set you have here. you used some interesting editing, black and white, pano's looks like maybe some HDR? Just a real nice array of different types of shots. But my vote for POW will have to be number 12 because you successfully incorporated black and white, vertical panorama, and a sefl portrait! nice job
Emily, you have such an interesting set here. I really wanna know what app you used to get your double exposure photos. My favorite was your self portrait, #4. It has such an interesting context. The content made me really stare to figure out what was in the exposure that was blocking your face. It almost seemed like you were hiding behind something, or hiding part of your identity. It also kinda reminded me of looking into another world, almost like the movie Donnie Darko - which is my favorite movie, so naturally, I like this one! Great job here.
I like your set because it shows a sense of “disorder” and a lot of your shots are more abstract. It’s a lot different from some of the others and that’s good! You used both panorama and slow shutter speed settings uniquely. The slow shutter speed shots give a “double exposure” effect. I like the way that you used the panorama feature vertically. I think my favorite is #17 because you managed to get your face in the frame twice along with your hand. Really interesting, nice job!
I really like a lot of these! You have a good mix of effects that you experimented with for this assignment. I like all the different manipulations. #13 and #14 are my favorite. #13 has qualities that resemble film photos which I like. #14 is a cool way of using that effect which makes for an interesting final photo. I like the framing with that one too how you embedded it on that negative space. Overall good job I enjoyed your set a lot.
Emily - Its great how confident you are to include all the self portraits! You really have a good grasp on the slow shutter speed ! The way that you have incorporated it with your self portraits has to take some practice! I would have to say that the one over the sink, number 17 is my favorite (POW). Also number 7 really draws me in, the distortion of the houses and sidewalk is very unique. I would like to hear more about how you captured number 3 - I look forward to hearing your recipe's from this week !!
Emily! Such great work. Have no idea how you made half of these and I am loving that but also wishing I knew. I tried multiple times to take pictures of myself or even something else through glass so that I would have a cool reflection.. never came out as good as your number 1 and 11. The colors in them are great and you get to see both elements clearly. You have taken these photos and made them more into art. I really love your number 12, that's such a great vantage point and the fact that you see both sides of the wall makes it so visually appealing to the eye. I really am not sure what one is my favorite so for your POW i am picking 11 and 12. I didn't even realize that in 11 there are three images of people. I am really looking forward to reading your recipes for this week and even though I did not name 7 I hope you explain how you made this one! Awesome job this week!
WOW Emily some awesome shots here that after looking through my first reaction was "how did she do that" My personal favorite however would have to be number 7 the contrast in colors along with the slow shutter shot makes this photo really jump out to me. I too was curious what app you were using to produce these great shots! You have awesome self portraits probably my favorite every week. Keep up the great work!
Cool experimenting with the shutter speed and lighting effects. I loved how your panoramas looked! For your POW, it was a tie for photo #7 and photo #18. I just couldn't decide which one I enjoyed more! Great work this week!
