Hi Ryan, Looks like you enjoyed this set of pictures. You have some nice panoramas and some great up close details. I love the coloring in #2, the coloring makes it seems to come alive, the waves seems very "active". But there is something about #11 that keeps drawing me back to it and makes me pic it for your POW. It is a view that not many would see, through the barbed wire. I feel like on this side of the barbed wire, the picture is dark and on the other side it seems lighter and softer. Similar to being behind bars maybe or being locked up. Good Job.
Ryan, you have some great macro shots in this bunch. 8,9,10 and 14 are all great examples. But, for the sake of a POW, I would have to agree with Sarah, that number 11 is your best shot. The angle of view being through the barbed wire, at such a high level, is an interesting perspective. That combined with the cool tones and soft light of the sky (which are most successful in this shot), you create a certain kind of "trapped" feeling, someone who climbed up the fence and put their face right in the barbed wire. Nice job!
You have an interesting set of photographs. My favorite is #2 and I'm wondering how you took it. The color is fantastic. Did you use slow shutter speed for that? Nice job!
nice set you have here ryan! my favorite is number 7 of the subway panorama. It looks like the middle of the photo is popping out at me and the rest of the photo is running away to the corners. nice shot!
Ryan, I really enjoyed #2! I think it has an awesome context, it makes me wonder how you were able to get an awesome photo, with the extended seeing technique, while also getting great stop action, and not ruining your phone! The technique emphasizes the water, while also capturing great detail. The colors in it are vibrant, but not over saturated. It was definitely my favorite out of the set. Awesome!
Ryan - nice job, My POW is 7. The subway panorama is nice, I like the way that it looks like a mirror image and not only a panorama. I also really enjoy number 4. I understand you could not have gotten out of the car to take the photo w. The image looks glassy and unique. After reading Lauralea and Sarah's comments about photo number 11 - I appreciated it more, did you post a picture like this in another set?
#7 is my favorite. You have a pretty consistent group of photos here with public transportation and motion. I like that. #7 is my favorite because I like the symmetrical effect the subway has. The only thing I would say is to work with the colors a little more in these posts. There's nothing wrong with the imagery but you could make some photos more interesting just playing around with standard effects and levels.
Ryan, number 2 is my vote for POW. I hope you choose to use it as your recipe, i'd love to know how you made. Try to add more variety in your photos in the future!
Your pictures for this topic turned out great. I love the variety of panorama shots that you included. My favorite from the collection is number 12. I love that it has more than one focal point due to the interesting angle that you took the picture at. I also really liked the coloring of the image.
My favorite pic here is # 3. I like the mystery in it- it appears to be a reflection off the side of...something? I can't tell but the water in it makes me really wonder what exactly surrounds this shot itself. I also like the play on the theme, extended seeing, in picture #9. Nice to capture the sunglasses and then the background kind of far out and blurry. Cool idea. Overall, pretty cool set!
